Chauffeur Travel for Wembley, Twickenham and The O2

Big London venues bring big crowds, and the transport question is rarely about getting there — it's about getting away afterwards. A pre-arranged chauffeur plans the exit as carefully as the arrival.

Chauffeur-driven car waiting near a major London stadium for event-goers

In short

A chauffeur to Wembley, Twickenham or The O2 gives you a planned arrival ahead of a concert, football or rugby fixture, and a pre-agreed collection point for the exit, when tens of thousands of people are leaving the same venue at once. Staggered collection points and extra time on departure are the key planning points.

Wembley Stadium, Twickenham Stadium and The O2 each draw crowds in the tens of thousands, and the roads around them are designed for the calm days rather than the event days.

Getting a group there in one vehicle is usually the easy part. Getting away again, once a concert or match has just finished and everyone else has the same idea, is where planning matters most.

Wembley Stadium

Football finals, England fixtures and major concerts at Wembley routinely bring closures around Olympic Way and the surrounding streets. A chauffeur familiar with the venue will plan a drop-off close enough to be practical and a collection point that can actually be reached once the crowds disperse, rather than one that looks convenient on a map but sits inside a pedestrian-only zone on the night.

Twickenham Stadium

International rugby weekends fill the surrounding streets for hours either side of kick-off. Pre-match hospitality and post-match departures both benefit from an agreed meeting point away from the immediate stadium gates, rather than trying to flag down a car in the crowd. Local residential streets are often subject to parking restrictions on match days, which limits where a vehicle can realistically wait.

The O2

The O2's location on the Greenwich Peninsula means road access can be tightly managed on major concert nights. A chauffeur can plan around scheduled road closures and agree a realistic pick-up point once the show ends, and the peninsula's layout means a car parked on the wrong side can face a genuinely long diversion to reach the correct exit road.

Other major venues

The same approach applies to other large London venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, ExCeL London, Lord's Cricket Ground and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, each with its own local road patterns on event days. What works for one venue's collection point rarely transfers directly to another, which is why local knowledge of each venue matters more than a single generic plan.

Timing the arrival

Arriving too early at a stadium usually means a longer wait than arriving right on time, since roads immediately around the venue are typically at their quietest a couple of hours before doors or kick-off. Arriving too late, on the other hand, can mean the final approach roads are already closed to vehicles. Agreeing a sensible arrival window in advance avoids both problems.

Coordinating several passengers

Corporate hospitality bookings often involve guests arriving from different directions and wanting to leave together, or a mix of individual and group travel. Confirming this in advance means the right number and size of vehicle can be arranged rather than adjusted on the night, and a single point of contact can manage any last-minute changes to timing.

Late finishes and staggered collection

  • Post-event roads are often at their busiest in the first 20–30 minutes after finish
  • Staggered or slightly delayed collection points can be quicker than trying to reach the venue immediately
  • Concerts and matches can run later than the scheduled finish time
  • A confirmed meeting point away from the main exits is usually more reliable than a gate pick-up
  • Encores, extra time and post-match presentations can all add unplanned minutes to the finish

Whatever the venue, agreeing a realistic collection plan before the event, rather than during it, is what makes the journey home straightforward.

What to tell us when booking

  • The venue, event and scheduled start or kick-off time
  • Whether you're attending hospitality with an earlier arrival than general admission
  • Party size, and whether the group is travelling together or from different directions
  • Any accessibility requirements affecting where you can be dropped or collected
  • A contact number for on-the-night updates if the event overruns
