One car, door to door, about ninety minutes
The journey runs west on the M40 and usually takes around ninety minutes from central London outside peak hours, longer if you leave Mayfair at five in the afternoon. Trains are quick to Oxford station, but they leave you a taxi rank and a suitcase away from most colleges, hotels and business parks. A chauffeur takes you from your London door to the Oxford door.
We price the run as one fixed journey agreed before travel. Congestion Charge, ULEZ compliance, fuel and normal running costs are inside the quotation; extended waiting, parking and tolls are shown separately so nothing appears afterwards.
Access, parking and where a car can actually stop
Central Oxford is heavily restricted. High Street and Cornmarket are closed to through traffic for much of the day, several college lodges sit on pedestrian streets, and the park-and-ride sites are the default for most drivers. Your chauffeur will agree a realistic set-down point in advance — a lodge gate, a hotel frontage on the ring of streets that still take vehicles, or the nearest legal kerb a short walk away.
For college interviews, matriculation, graduation days and Encaenia, expect road closures and gowns everywhere. Tell us the occasion and we will build the extra time into the plan rather than discover it on the day.
Waiting, return legs and a full day at disposal
Many Oxford journeys are not one-way. If you have a meeting, a tour of a college or lunch before returning, a full day at disposal is usually the better structure: the car and chauffeur stay with you, luggage stays in the boot, and you are not re-booking between stops.
If you only need the outbound leg, book it on its own. If you want Blenheim Palace, Bicester Village or the Cotswolds added on the way back, say so when you request the price and it will be quoted as one arrangement.
